is a local mission outreach, located in Auburn, IN that Norris Chapel supports through out the year. “The mission of Shelter Ministries, Inc. is to provide Christ-centered rehabilitative and preventative services that empower, equip and encourage the homeless and near homeless in order that they may live independent, productive and successful lives.”
Norris Chapel UM donates grocery items, clothing and donate funds through out the year in support of their outreach.

Located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Rescue Ministries today includes The Life House for men, Charis House for women and their children, Restoration House for long & short term care for addictions, and Treasure house, our thrift store where donations of household goods are passed on to our residents with the excess sold at minimal prices to low income people in the community.

The Woodburn Christian Children's Home

The Methodist Mountain Mission
trucks stop at several United Methodist churches in the area. They stop at Norris Chapel during the month of August as well as other area United Methodist churches to pick up gently used clothing, household appliances, furniture, cleaning supplies and knick knacks that can be sold to residents in the Jackson, Kentucky area. Check our newsletter page for the next available time they will be stopping at Norris Chapel.

Expressions of Love
A local charity operated in Waterloo, Indiana gives area Waterloo children much needed gently used clothing both for summer and winter wear, as well as school supplies. A trailer supplied with various items is taken the Waterloo park for distribution.

Habitat for Humanity
Norris Chapel supports Habitat for Humanity of Dekalb County and it’s mission of helping families build affordable new homes in the area.

Norris Chapel United Methodist Church supports several families each year at Christmas. This year, gifts will be given to children where parents are struggling with expenses. Grocery items, clothing, heating bills paid , much needed appliances are just some of the things we will be helping out with this Christmas season.
Bashor Children’s Home
is a 501-C-3 non profit child welfare agency affiliated with the United Methodist Church. We provide help for troubled children and their families through residential care, day treatment/ alternative education, foster care, and many other services.
Bashor has become a regional provider for services over the last 80 years and works with over 100 children daily from 22 counties and 3 different states.

Norris Chapel helps to support the work of the Henderson Settlement in Frakes, Kentucky. We have had work mission trips that went for a week to help
local residents fix much needed repairs to their homes. We also collect Campbell soup labels that are used to redeem for office supplies, computers,
and even vans! There are many areas in which Henderson Settlement helps those that live in this Appalachian community. To learn more about the work of

Work Missions Trips
many members of our church family have participated in work camps both locally and abroad. The Dominican Republic, Haiti as well as The Henderson Settlement in Frakes, Kentucky are mission trips that have been taken. We also have done local work camps as well, such as our area church camps and local residents that need repairs made to their homes.
